Anyone visiting London in August and September absolutely must tour Buckingham Palace. The palace is only open to visitors during these two months while the Queen is on holiday in Scotland. When you buy your tickets, you’re given a specific visiting time, which is great since they only sell so many tickets per slot, making the crowds more manageable. Our time wasn’t until 5:15 which was perfect since we were the last group to go; meaning we were able to see many of the rooms without anyone else. We were able to tour several official staterooms, the main entrance, the main staircase and a small portion of the gardens. My favorite rooms were the dining room and the music room where Prince Charles and Price William were baptized. We’re guessing it is the same room where baby Prince George will also be baptized.
We ended the tour in the Garden Café with tea and cake. It was the ideal way to end the tour. I am so glad we decided to visit Buckingham Palace and cannot wait to return when Brock’s parents, Debbie and Clyde, come to visit.
Tomorrow I’ll share pictures of our visit to Althorp. Thanks for reading and have a fabulous day!
